Adverse weather conditions / school closure
As the winter weather sets in we would like to inform you of the school procedures in the event of adverse weather conditions or indeed any other eventuality beyond our control.
We will always endeavour to open the school for those that are able to get to school safely. However, there may be times when this is not possible, due to very heavy snow fall for example, and the school has to remain closed. In such an event, a decision will be made early in the morning and if the school is unable to open a ParentMail message (text) will be sent out to all parents by 7am.
A message will also be displayed on the home page, latest news of this School Website and on this page where further information will be uploaded if necessary. If you cannot get your child to school safely please email the school and let us know your child’s name and class rather than telephoning.
If during the course of a day, the weather in Radlett deteriorates dramatically and a decision is made to close the school early you will be sent a ParentMail text message. A further message will be uploaded on the website explaining the procedures for collecting your children. Please consult the website, check ParentMail messages and try to avoid calling the school unless it is urgent.
The safety of the children is our priority and the school will remain open until all the children have been collected.
If you need to pick up your child early, as you live in an area where the weather is becoming problematic, please ring prior to collection so we can organise for your child to be ready on your arrival.
If you have any concerns at any time then telephone the school office.
