Year 4 Residential Trip – ‘Wildchild’
Year 4 have the exciting opportunity to spend one night away from home on a school residential trip. We will be visiting the ‘Wildchild’ residential adventure site, which is held at Phasels Wood Activity Centre in Hertfordshire.
The children will get the chance to connect with the outdoors, be introduced to new life-skills designed to build confidence and resilience, whilst being encouraged to improve team-work. The activities that the children will be doing has not been confirmed, however here are some examples of what they could be getting up to:
Wild Survivor Bushcraft – Shelter building, survival skills (natural cordage, water filtration), navigation and tracking, fire-lighting, and camp-fire cooking.
Wild Night Safari – Exploring the woodland at night and learning more about its creatures.
Team-building – Fun woodland games and challenges.
Evening Activities – Include Cresta Run Toboggans, team-games and camp-fire.
Two Adventurous Activities – to be confirmed but options include: Abseiling, Climbing, Archery, Pot-holing, Cratestacking, Zipwire, Kayaking and High Ropes.
Accommodation: Traditional bell-tents sleep 6 children on bunk-beds OR cabins depending on which site is booked.
