Year 2 had an action-packed day learning all about The Great Fire of London. It started with lots of different activities such as making candles, scent bags and sewing books. There was lots to learn through the acting activities. They even had to make a long line and take buckets of water from the well to the fire!
In the afternoon, the children became archaeologists and discovered the secrets hidden in the soil. Then, together with facts from historical documents, they worked out who lived in each house and what job they did. Finally, they arranged the objects they had unearthed and presented them as if in a museum.
It was a really fun day and the children had a brilliant time.
