Tyler (Y6) and Sam (Y5) are both keen table tennis players. They play each week at table tennis club at school and they also train and compete for a club outside of school. They are proud to have achieved national ranking points. Currently Tyler is ranked 6th and Sam is ranked 16th in England in the Under 11 age group.
Last week they attended a regional table tennis tournament as part of the IAPS sports calendar at the Kings’ School in Harpenden. They thoroughly enjoyed the tournament and were both unbeaten, until they met each other in the final. Tyler won the final match, and Sam took second place.
Today, 26th January, they attended the National Independent Schools Association Table Tennis Tournament in Nottingham. It was the first time that Radlett Prep had entered a team into this tournament. Tyler and Sam were extremely proud to represent their school at such a prestigious event, competing against children from across the country. Once again, they were unbeaten throughout the day in the Under 11 Singles event, until they met each other once again in the final. Tyler won the final match, scoring 11-9 and 11-7 in two games, and Sam took second place. They then competed together in the Under 11 Doubles tournament, and finished in first place.
These are amazing achievements and we are all very proud of Sam and Tyler.
