Year 2 have been learning about Habitats in their Science lessons.
Today, the children, wearing their wellies, went outside to look for animals and plants around the grounds of the school.
They found some in the grassy area, by a pond and in the woods.
We then talked about what a habitat is and what it needs to provide
for those animals and plants.
Under the logs the children also found millipedes, slugs and ants.
They also saw a worm in the soil, a squirrel in a tree and a family of grouse near the pond.
It was quite an adventure for the children and they had a great time and got lots of fresh air!
We found a worm in the soil, a squirrel in a tree and a family
