Our 1st X1 football team travelled to Vicarage Road on Wednesday 17th May. Having won the Watford schools premier league starts tournament in February, we qualified for the National Schools Finals.
Our first game was against Aston Villa which we won 2-O. It was a great start to the tournament with Ethan scoring both goals. In our next game we played against Crystal Palace.
Unfortunately we lost the game 2-0. We didn’t let our heads drop and played West Ham in our next game. It was a great performance and we beat them comfortably 3-1. In our final group game we played Leicester.
This was our best performance of the tournament and we won the game 3-1. To win 3 matches and not qualify for the knock out stage was tough to take but the boys played remarkably well and have achieved so much this season. To play at Vicarage Road and see the Premier League Trophy and meet a Watford player was an amazing experience and a big well done to Suraj, Kitan, Anthony, Dylan, Henry, Zacci, Ethan and Charlie.
