On Friday 2nd October, Year 3 travelled back in time to investigate life in Roman Britain. Split into their 3 class bubbles, the children took part in separate workshops. In one, they learned about Boudicca and her revolt against the Rotten Romans.
In the second, they learned more about the Roman army, Roman religion, the theatre and Roman law. In the third workshop, every child was able to design and make their own genuine mosaic using tiles and grout which they will be able to bring home once they are dry.
Over the course of the day, the children met a Roman soldier, a priest, a slave and a magistrate who helped them understand what life was like in the Roman times. It was fantastic to see so many well-behaved Roman children enjoying the day.
