Radlett Prep sent 5 teams to a chess match as a first round qualifier for the National Primary School Tournament, organised by EPSCA.
There were three U11 teams, each of which qualified for the next round of the tournament, which is a national semi final, to be held in Bristol in May. The U11 “A” team won the qualifying tournament in an excellent first place, receiving gold medals! We are thrilled with this superb performance, continuing Radlett’s proud chess tradition.
In the U9 section, each of the teams qualified for the next round of the “Plate” tournament, which is a separate tournament for up and coming, and promising players. We are very pleased with our youngsters and congratulate them on this achievement, which bodes well for the future.
As always, the Radlett teams are grateful to its chess club, led by Mr Kumar and the various parent volunteers, led by Mrs Elman.
