On Friday 31st January the Radlett Prep U11 football team took part in the Watford FC Premier League Schools Tournament held at the Watford FC Training Ground in London Colney. It was the first time that we had sent a team to the event. The matches took part in the 4G dome at Watford’s training ground. There were 4 groups with 8 teams in each group and only the winner of each group progressed to the quarter finals. After the 7 group matches Radlett had won 6 and lost one which meant that we had won the group. In the semi-final we played The Grove and put on a dominant display winning comfortably 4-0. The final was against Warren Dell School. We started the final really well scoring in the opening minute. This set the scene for the final which Radlett dominated. The eventual score was 4-0 to Radlett. It was a thoroughly fantastic achievement for the team to win such a prestigious event. It was also a great experience and honour to meet Nigel Pearson, the Watford manager, and some of the Watford players who came along on the day to watch the youngsters in action.
