This morning we held a Remembrance Assembly for all the children from Reception through to Year 6. All the children and staff wore their poppies with pride and sat quietly whilst listening to Mrs Wills explain the significance of Remembrance Day and why we wear poppies.
After break, all the children lined up and all the staff came out to join them. Mr White, Principal, spoke for a moment explaining why the flag was at half mast and why we have a minutes silence.
The School Councillors for each Year Group carried a ceramic poppy which the school had purchased from the display a couple of years ago at The Tower of London and planted them beside the flagpole.
At 11am the school fell silent for a minute whilst we remembered those that gave up their lives during the war.
