On Thursday 7th March 12 pupils in Years 3 & 4 from Radlett Prep took part in a Gymnastics Competition held at Cowley Hill School in Borehamwood. Each squad consisted of 5 girls and 1 boy. Pupils participated in a vault and a floor routine. Our pupils performed extremely well on the vault which consisted of a squat on and a straight jump or straddle jump off. The floor routine was made up of 10 movements and the pupils had to perform in time with each other and were judged on their aesthetics, height in jumps and presentation. There were 7 schools involved and the standard of gymnastics was very high. This was the first time our children had taken part in this competition and they all enjoyed the challenge. We were thrilled to discover that our A squad had finished in first place overall and have qualified for the finals which are to be held on March 26th at Queens School. Well done to all the pupils who took part in this event.
