After being postponed due to snow, we were delighted to rearrange our World Book Day festivities, alongside our visit from esteemed author and illustrator, James Mayhew.
This year’s theme ‘A Picture Paints a Thousand Words’ provided children with an opportunity to celebrate a wide range of illustrators, with activities such as decorating classroom doors as giant book covers and buddying with other year groups to draw favourite book characters together.
James’s visit was spellbinding and he inspired both children and teachers alike, with his skilled illustrations and transporting story telling.
The children and staff all made a huge effort with their costumes and they all looked absolutely amazing. The hall was a sea of colour and smiling faces.
The day was a wonderful celebration of our school’s ever-increasing love of literature.
