Aim & Ethos

You are here: Home / Our School / Aim & Ethos

Radlett Preparatory School is a welcoming and inclusive family school, where each child is recognised as an individual and their natural curiosity for the world around them is nurtured. We are proud of our traditions delivering academic excellence with every child receiving the very best education, whilst promoting an enriched and nurturing learning environment throughout our extensive school grounds, where pupils develop the characteristics and habits necessary to thrive in an ever-changing world.

We celebrate our diverse and inclusive community, promoting equity, independence, tolerance, and respect so that pupils flourish as they grow and develop both as individuals and together. The school works in partnership with parents to ensure every child develops their potential allowing them to embrace the opportunities that await them when they move on to senior school.

Our Values

At Radlett Prep School we encourage and actively promote the values of  Love of Learning, Respect, Compassion, Resilience and Community. These are incorporated into our Golden Rules created by our School Councillors. Our values are woven into school life through the curriculum, behaviour policy, assembly programme and enrichment opportunities.

VALUE

VALUE STATEMENT

Love of learning

We are passionate about cultivating a love of learning which empowers individuals to contribute meaningfully to their community and broader society. We thrive on the joy we experience through uncovering new information, independently exploring the world around us, actively engaging with the learning process and making critical decisions.
Respect We value respect for ourselves, people and property both within school and our wider community. We approach all situations with honesty, consideration, and integrity.
Community

Within the RPS family we celebrate kindness, collaboration and inclusivity within our community. We take pride in working with our wider community. Each member of our community is valued and feels the impact of their contributions.
Resilience At RPS we nurture an environment that encourages everyone to face challenges with determination and adaptability. We view setbacks as opportunities for learning and personal development so that we have the skills to thrive academically and face the future with confidence.
Compassion Empathy and kindness are at the heart of daily life at RPS. We believe in the importance of looking at and understanding the world through others’ eyes and valuing the qualities that make us unique.
