This morning all the children attended our special Remembrance Assembly.
The focus was the 100th Anniversary of the ending of World War One. The hall had been decorated with banners and Art Club children had completed a stunning Poppy display.
The children came in to WW1 songs which created the atmosphere of celebration.
During the assembly Mrs Wills talked about why the war ended and its legacy. The children heard about the innovations that came about, as varied as improved medical help, prosthetics, aeroplanes, wrist watches and the use of radios. They watched a short film clip of the War Graves in France. Prayers were said for Peace and although the atmosphere was lighter all the children showed great respect and understanding.
